Design thinking is a method used in problem-solving. The ArtsMap created a method which is called ‘Train the Trainer’ programme in 2019. By bringing people and organizations from different backgrounds to answer a local question in a global way by using the commons, we co-solve problems or co-create new methods to reach our goals under the sustainable culture and art sector. And that is the inspiration for the ArtsMap.
Under the ArtsMap, improved ‘Train the Trainer’ events gives a platform for the artists, makers, institutions, and non-governmental organizations to engage and hopefully invest in sustainable cultural dialogues. In a series of capacity-building events not only professionals from different disciplines of arts and culture in the Netherlands and Turkey put their heads and hands together to find solutions for modern problems but also engage with other problem-solvers such as economists or innovation professionals and many more. Together, the ArtsMap network tries to enhance each other’s work by exchanging knowledge and experience with the method of co-design. All the ‘Train the Trainer’ programmes started with a question that revolves around Sustainable Culture such as ‘How can we co-create inclusive and sustainable communication in the arts and culture sector?’ or ’How can we co-develop circular economies for sustainable stages?’
